About Father and Daughter Weekend

Ever hear the term “daddy’s little girl?” Ever notice all the daddy/daughter dates hosted by churches and other organizations? Ever tear up at the daddy/daughter dance at a wedding? What is it about this relationship that causes such emotion – often elation, many times trepidation, sometimes frustration and confusion? 

A woman’s identity has been challenged since Eve was approached by Satan in the Garden of Eden. He convinced her that she was being short changed, and that who she was, created in the image of God, was not enough. Those lies have not stopped. They now attack women, not through a talking snake, but through images on our screens, voices from songs, social media, and sometimes even lies in our own heads.

How do we combat those lies? How do we replace those lies with truth? How do we convince women that they are who God says they are? In God’s design, the father is the truth-teller, the protector, the identity-giver. But often that communication gets scrambled between genders and generations. We hear things like: “You just don’t understand!” or “You just don’t want me to have any fun!” 

Kerygma Ventures’ Father and Daughter Weekend is more than just creating a memory together. It is more than just a daddy/daughter date. It is a weekend intentionally designed to start conversations, provide tools for communication, create a safe place to discuss identity, and teach truth about the beautiful destiny God designed for women. 

Join us at Tesoro Escondido Ranch. Daughters must be at least 15 years old to attend. Dads can be any age.
